Drama Digest
As part of the government’s poverty alleviation program, an impoverished village in Xihaigu, one of the least inhabitable regions of the Ningxia province, is to be resettled in Minning Town , a brand-new settlement several hundred kilometers away on the edge of the Gobi Desert. Ma Defu, a fresh graduate, is tasked to convince the skeptical inhabitants of his hometown to abandon their ancestral homes for the harsh Gobi Desert. The drama shows the immeasurable trials and hard-won triumphs of Ma Defu (Huang Xuan), and his team who worked together to create the minning town. The Feel-Good Part
Minning Town is one of the most touching, hopeful, and realistic c-dramas ever made. We get the point of view of different lives, be it teens, middle-aged people, elderly, Men and women. The uplifting message that the drama conveys is what makes the show so beautiful. Every scene is touching and wonderfully executed. The OSTs are lovely and on point with the settings
The Disappointing Part
The Drama is a bit too short, and some of the time jumps which happen at the end skip important moments in some of the characters’ lives. The drama mainly focuses on real-life and is not the usual fluff and romance. If you are looking for a drama that will warm your heart and give you a better understanding of how the local people triumph despite extremely difficult circumstances, then this is the drama for you.
In-Depth Analysis
The story revolves around the life of villagers who have been forced to vacate their homeland and live in harsh conditions. The relationship between the characters is enjoyable to watch as we can relate to the challenges they face through the course of the story.
Star Power
As an ensemble drama, I can say confidently that every actor and actress brought their A-game. Each character was beautifully enacted and brought life to their characters. Shui Hua (acted by Rayzha Alimjan) embodies warmth and kindness, so we can’t help but root for her in every scene. Ma Defu (performed by Huang Xuan) presented his character wonderfully. All the actors were perfect for their roles and gave terrific performances in the show.
Overall Opinion
If you want to watch a drama with no cliché and unnecessary dragging, then this drama is the one for you. This drama provides good performances, notable acting ,and perfect cinematography.
