Drama Digest

“Immortal Lord, Have You Cleaned Up Today?” is known by several other titles such as “Is Xian Zun whitewashed today?” and “Has Mater’s Reputation Been Cleared Today?”. It is a short Chinese 2022 drama of the Fantasy type. They adapted it from a novel. The story includes two male protagonists which make it interesting. It tells the story of an otaku who is trapped in another world and becomes the villain Xia Yun.

The Feel-Good Part

The best factor of the show is the appearance of two male leads that captures all the attention of the viewers. The show has its beauty from the setup and the hair, makeup, and outfits. It is short but extremely funny. It is also short and can be finished in one sitting.

The Disappointing Factor

The drama is extremely low budget and hence the less recognition for the show. And that is the main reason behind the poor cinematography. The episodes are short and overall short runtime, which left the ending at the climax. If there is a second season, this show is incomplete with a very unsatisfactory ending. As it is based on a novel, it was half-baked and so they left many points from the original story. The humor is cringing sometimes, but funny. It was extremely short and hence did not get enough screen time to fit the romance. Besides that, the copyright issues with the original novel and the plagiarized one brought even lower ratings for the show.

In-Depth Analysis

The short drama revolves around a modern-day writer who enters a Xianxia world. There, he takes the role of a villain named Xian Zun. He was already destined to be captured by Chu Ye as revenge. His task is to stop the male protagonist from being decayed. He tries to avoid a bad ending in the story by changing his mode of interactions with Chu Ye. Chu Ye was initially a disciple of Xian Zun.

Star Power

They poorly produced the show with a low budget and hence the less popular actors. But despite that, they all performed their roles well. Li Jun Chen, Richard Li, and Ming Jia Jia, who played the main roles, could have received more recognition if they produced the show well.

Overall Opinion

The show has poor ratings and many viewers would not recommend watching it. But it is still worth watching for the humor and as it is short, it can be binge-watched anytime without significant investment.
