Drama Digest

God of Lost Fantasy (太古神王) is a live-action fantasy drama series adapted from Jing Wu Hen’s novel Ancient Godly Monarch. The television aired from the 27th of August, 2020, to the 25th of September, 2020. With each episode of forty-five minutes and spread over fifty-two minutes, the drama concerns the world of royal politics, corruption, martial arts, and the power of friendship and love.

The Feel-Good Part

The person who directed Dear Herbal Lord (2020) and Prodigy Healer (2019), Hu Chu Xi, and Chen Wei Xiang collaborated to co-direct this fantasy-fiction drama series. The producer incurred a lot on the creative production, sets, costumes, CGI, and animation of God of Lost Fantasy, seeing how essential it was to perfect the novel’s imagination. One of the first things that wrap the viewers into this rabbit hole is the rollercoaster-like plotline and the scenic beauty of Xinjiang.

The Disappointing Factor

Fans have deeply expressed their problems with the lack of joyful sparks between the leads. They even pointed out the blatant visibility of stunt doubles on the screen. Although the plot seems promising, the execution on-air lacks taste and clarity.
