Drama Digest
The story revolves around Shen Zhao Er (Sun Qian), the daughter of a royal physician. Her life became calamitous when her father got implicated in poisoning the royal consort. Later by royal command, her entire family got executed. In the present, Zhao Er enters the manor of famous war general Ji Heng (Huang Jun Jie) under the veil of Tian Qi, a male doctor, to investigate the execution of her family and clear her father’s name. Soon medical knowledge and innocence of Zhao Er took hold of Ji Heng’s heart. Her act causes another trouble, entire manor got mortified because their great General like his male physician.” Soon Zhao Er begins to feel things for Ji Heng. In the house of hatred, love flowthat ers secretly. But this love became a hitch in Zhao Er’s plan to seek vengeance and justice. Things became more complicated when murders and crimes began to occur in the Imperial Court.
The Feel-Good Part
The innocent and naive charm of Zhao Er is something that this show remarkably held till the very end. Several scenes will give you “feel good” vibes. General Heng being confused about his love preference is the funniest part of the entire series. Plus, the dress change from Shen Zhao Er to Tian Qi and the race against time will keep you fascinated.
The Disappointing Factor
The show is more of a romantic comedy than a mystery. The plot seen as a little weak. We will see a sudden engagement of characters later in the next half. After Zhao Er’s identity reveals, the story loses much of its main base. The male protagonist, Ji Heng, lacks a notion. Sometimes the slow pace of the show makes it tiring. Chances of losing interest in the middle half are also present.
In-Depth Analysis
The story speaks of a daughter seeking revenge and justice for her family. Zhao Er struggles to survive in the imperial court. The blood-soaked, political world of the imperial tribunal. It is a journey of two lovers who are one from their heart yet had different opinions in mind. Struggle for power and conspiracy in the family, control envy over love and understanding. The drama brings with it a lot of emotions.
Star Power
Sun Qian is the star of the show. Indeed, she did a fabulous job in her character as Shen Zhao Er and Tian Qi. The prominent part could be his expressions and actions as Zhao Er, who struck the place. Huang jun Jie’s performance as male lead Ji Heng can be a little disappointing. Even though the character demanded to look “ hard as ice,” it still lacks freshness.
Overall Opinion
It takes patience before the plot continues.The fantasy rom-com will keep you seated. Dr. Cutie don’t promise an edge-ended mystery, but the family drama is worth watching for a good laugh.
