The story is set in Joseon and the modern era and is fairytale-like, based on a historical tale.

The show tells about their journey of falling in love against all odds and fighting for a happy ending from those that stand against them, including time and distance itself.

While You Were Sleeping is a fantasy drama mixed with the elements of a legal drama. The show depicts the story and friendship of three adults who come together to save people from their consequent deaths. Hong Joo is a reporter who can see the future deaths of people while she sleeps. She takes the help of Jung Jae Chan, a prosecutor, and Han Woo Tak, a police officer, to prevents people from dying, without knowing that the three of them have somehow always been entwined.

The drama follows the story of a woman born with superhuman strength hired as the bodyguard by the CEO of a gaming company. Lee Yeon is a nine-tailed fox who relinquishes his position as Baekdudaegan's guardian mountain spirit to look for his first love's reincarnation. Nam Ji Ah is a television producer who looks like Lee Yeon's first love but doesn't have the bead he gave her. Ji Ah suspects Lee Yeon of being a supernatural being and thus went after him to find about the mysterious death of her parents. The drama has it all, fantasy, mystery, and romance, and it is worth watching.

 

8. Extraordinary You

Extraordinary You is a rom-com drama mixed with fantasy, about a girl named Dan Oh, a high school student who comes to the realization that she is an extra character in a comic book who is going to die soon. The story follows her as she befriends Haru, a character who doesn't have a name or a storyline, and Do Hwa, the charming second lead who never gets the girl. Together, they go through the comic book and the various stages they are put through, changing the story and its ending.

My Roommate Is A Gumiho aired in 2021 and is based on a webtoon. It is about a 999-year-old male Gumiho Shin Woo Yeo, determined to become a human being. However, after Lee Dam, a college student accidentally swallowed his fox bead, they agreed to live in the same house so that he could take care of the bead and ensure her safety as well.

It was released in 2010 and tells the story of a wealthy and egoistic CEO who falls in love with a simple and incredible stuntwoman and tries to win her over.
