A lot of the appeal of these Korean groups comes from how these members interact and work together. Some idols have the charisma, talent, and popularity to make it as a successful solo artist too. While it is true that we don’t want to see a member leave their group, it is still fun to get music from individuals. Many idols deserve to have their solo debut due to their charisma, skills, and visuals. Here are some idols who have the most considerable soloist potential in 2024.

1. Yujin- IVE

An Yu-Jin, well known as Yujin, is a South Korean singer, model, and lyricist born on 1st September 2003, signed under Starship Entertainment. She is the leader of Ive and a former member of Iz*One, a South Japanese girl group. While being a trainee, she appeared on CF with Cha Eunwoo. She is also known for starring in various advertisements. She has what it takes to be a soloist and also has a vast solo fanbase.

2. Ten- NCT

Chittaphon Leechaiyapornkul, known as Ten, is a Thai dancer and singer based in South Korea and China, born on 27th February 1996. In 2016, he debuted with the boy band NCT as part of its first sub-unit, NCT U. He is from a  Thai-Chinese family. In 2013, he joined SM Entertainment after passing an SM global audition. In February 2024, he made his solo debut with his eponymous extended play. He is multilingual and speaks English, Thai, Mandarin, and Korean.

3. Yunjin- LE SSERAFIM

Huh Yun-jin, known as Yunjin, is a Korean-American songwriter and singer, born on 8th October 2001. She was born in Seoul but was raised in New York since she was a child. She moved back to Korea to pursue a career as an idol, at sixteen, and became a trainee in different companies. She appeared as a contestant on Produce 48, a survival show in 2018, but got eliminated after ranking 26th.

4. Zhang Hao- Zerobaseone

Zhang Hao is a Chinese singer born on 25th July 2000. He came first in Boys Planet, a 2023 survival show, and secured a spot in the group Zerobaseone. On 10th July 2023 he made his official debut with Youth in theShade, a mini album. He is multilingual and speaks Japanese, English, Korean, and Chinese. If he plays the right cards, he will become a huge soloist idol, as he has the “it” factor.

5. Jongho- ATEEZ

Choi Jongho is a South Korean dancer, actor, and singer under KQ Entertainment, born on 12th October 2000. On 24th October 2018, he made his official debut as the maknae and main vocalist of ATEEZ, the boy group. He debuted as an actor in the drama, Imitation, in 2021. He enjoyed singing and became an idol, even though he planned to be an athlete. His specialties are singing, acting, arm wrestling, splitting apples, and playing soccer.

6. Yuqi- (G)I-DLE

Song Yuqi, known as Yuqi, is a Chinese songwriter, singer, dance, and record producer born on 23rd September 1999. Under Cube Entertainment, she used to model before becoming a trainee. Even back in China she was passionate at Dancing. On 2nd May 2018, she debuted as the member of (G)I-DLE, with the song Latata. She made her solo debut with the album “A Page.”

7. Wonyoung- IVE

Jang Won-young, known as Wonyoung, is a Korean singer born on 31st August 2004. She is a member of Ive, which was formed by Starship Entertainment. She was a trainee for one year and two months. She is the primary visual, vocalist, and face of the group. She was only thirteen when she joined the popular show Produce 48, being the youngest trainee. She was the cover model of Harper’s Bazaar Korea in 2021.

8. Lily- NMIXX

Lily Morrow is a Korean- Australian singer born 17th October, 2002, in Victoria, Australia. She was a child model and actress and is currently signed under JYP Entertainment. She was part of the K-pop star in 2015, coming fourth, and signed a contract with JYP. On 22nd February 2022, she debuted as a member of NMIXX. She was a trainee, for six years and six months. While being a trainee she used to practice with Chaeryeong of ITZY. At the age of thirteen she released an OST for Orange Marmalade.

9. Yeji- ITZY

Hwang Yeji is a South Korean singer, rapper, and dancer born on 26th May 2000 under JYP Entertainment. She passed a JYP audition in 2016 and became their official trainee. She appeared in different shows like Stray Kids the Series and The Fan, as a trainee, that helped her gain attention. She was revealed as a ITZY’s member on 20th January. Recently, she released her first solo song, Crown on My Head. She was a trainee for three years.

10. Hanni- NewJeans

Hanni Pham is a Vietnamese-Australian singer born on 6th October 2004 under ADOR. Born and raised in Melbourne, she is the eldest daughter of Vietnamese parents. From a young age, she had shown great passion for music and auditioned for The Voice Kid Australia. Later, she participated in Plus Global Audition and became a trainee under Source Music. She joined ADOR, and on 22nd July 2022, made her debut as a member of New Jeans. She was a trainee for two and a half years.
