Anime Digest

Kimi to Fit Boxing is a short Japanese anime adapted from a Nintendo game. It is a series produced by Japanese studios Imagineer and Story Effect. The main characters are Karen, Hiro, Janice, Lin, Evan, Martina, Sophie, Laura, and Bernardo. The boxing instructors’ distinctive personalities are the reason why the game has already ingrained itself into the daily lives of many gamers. They are constantly there to encourage and support their protegees as they work hard. They treat them gently at times and harshly at other times. Of course, that only applies during active play. What if they continued to exist when the game was switched off? What if they were engaging in some perplexing behavior while the game was off?

The Feel-Good Part

You will enjoy it if you have always loved Boxing, Nintendo, and anime. This anime documents the day-to-day activities of these educators as well as what goes on off-screen. Every episode is aptly titled, providing just the right hint to pull the viewers. The director is Junpei Morita, who made the famous anime The Lost Song.

The Disappointing Factor

The story is decent but at times weak. The artwork is decent for the budget that the show seems to work with. It’s astonishing how different the characters are. The lines, however, could have been written more effectively. They could have included additional roughness, such as blood or gore. There needs to be a significant amount of character development as well.

 In-Depth Analysis

Characters are pretty diverse and easily remembered. Karen is a gifted, athletic young lady who was once an all-around athlete. She is dependable, but she can be a little scatter-brained at times. Hiro is a young man with a fun personality who enjoys eating. Janis is a former cheerleader for a professional American football team and a fit boxing instructor. Rin is a courteous, cheerful, and polite fit boxing instructor who can put everyone at ease, even beginners. Evan is a physically fit boxing instructor with some amateur boxing experience. He used to be an unruly loner, but now he’s friendly. Martina is a physically fit boxing instructor. She’s a mood maker who despises defeat. Soffy is a genuine celebrity who has met high society worldwide since she was a child. Laura is like a big sister on whom anyone can rely. She is a successful former competitive dancer who consistently delivered outstanding performances. Bernardo is everyone’s father figure.

Star Power

The voice acting is satisfactory.

 Overall Opinion

Not the best in anime, but if the combination of boxing and anime strikes you, go for it.
