Anime Digest
This is a Japanese anime with a simple and uncomplicated concept. The three leads of the drama are high school girls who are overly passionate about anime which drives them to start their anime club, where they create various characters and try to bring their ideas to life.
The Feel-Good Part
The show lets the audience dive deep into the creative process of an anime. Audiences are always curious about how their favorite anime shows are made and this show makes an effort to put forth that process in front of us. The animation of the series is quite unique and attractive. The characters are well-written.
The Disappointing Factor
The drama starts off pretty well but the quality deteriorates after a couple of episodes. It becomes a boring binge-watch after those couple episodes. It is also filled with some other stupid aspects which might be annoying to some.
In-Depth Analysis
The first lead, Midori Asakusa is a first-year high school student. She’s always been passionate about anime. She always has a sketchbook with her no matter where she goes. She likes to sketch random things around her and also some out of her imagination and creativity. She aims at being an anime creator someday but the thought of doing it alone holds her back. She’s not confident in doing it alone and wants someone to accompany her in this endeavor of hers. One day, her best friend, Sayaka Kanamori recognizes her talent and passion. Sayaka personally does not have any knowledge about anime but she’s very interested in making money and would do anything for it. She asks Midori to pursue her dream in any way possible and supports her. She helps Midori and also helps in negotiating with the school council about the anime club. Both of them start listing out ideas about how they can start their Anime creation firm. Not very late, they discover that one of their classmates is very interested in animation and related stuff. Her name is Tsubame Mizusaki. She’s an amateur model who is persuaded by her parents to become an actress, but she’s not interested in it. She’s really similar to Midori because she did not know how to start either. After discussing with each other, the three of them finally decide to open up a club of their own. They create this anime club in secret without letting anyone know who the creators are. This was because Tsubame’s parents had forbidden her from joining any sort of anime club. This club was named ‘Eizouken’ by the girls. This is the story of these three girls trying to establish themselves and make the world of anime great through their passion.
Star Power
The main three girls are all the stars of the show. Their character development and teamwork are what maket the show what it is. Being completely different from one another, and having different interests, they selflessly support each other till the end.
Overall Opinion
This show was a fresh blow during the period of the pandemic. It’s a non-deep and just light-hearted watch-for-fun show which is suitable for all audiences.
