Drama Digest

The story follows the journey of Ethan, a warrior who gets resurrected with a missing heart. His aim is not just to retrieve his stolen heart but also to take revenge for killing his wife. On his journey, Ethan gets accompanied by Hannah, a pawn whose purpose is to serve Ethan. As the show progresses, Ethan takes on challenges and fights his inner demons to reach his goal.

The Feel Good Part

The show shines through the main character Ethan and his sidekick, Hannah. It is fun to follow these two on their journey. The two characters come to life during their journey, and their personalities grow.

There are many action sequences, and almost all of the episodes end with a big fight. It gives each episode a standalone quality while not disconnecting it from the show’s overall plot.

The Disappointing Factor

While the two main characters are fascinating and have a lot of growth, the other supporting characters don’t add a lot to the story. The characters that appear in single episodes don’t leave any impact on the viewers and are easily forgettable. The show doesn’t focus well on the subplots, making it seem disconnected from the main plot.

Each episode of the show gets named after the seven deadly sins. It doesn’t seem to be an original idea, while the writers don’t try to make this concept as attractive as you’d expect. Most of the things get expected from the episodes.

In-Depth Analysis

This series tries to follow a different storyline based on a video game of the same name. Like most animes nowadays, this has computer-generated animation. It doesn’t necessarily drag the showdown, but it sometimes feels compromised. However, the work done on the action scenes is quite visible and can get easily enjoyed by the viewers.

Since each episode gets named after the seven deadly sins, all attacks deal with a different theme. You wouldn’t find any deeper meaning in every episode apart from the lessons that the protagonist learns. However, it is interesting to see what change each episode brings in the protagonist and his sidekick.

Star Power

Since it’s an anime, it is available in English and Japanese. Both the voice casts have some notable names. The Japanese voice of Ethan, Yuichi Nakamura, has done a great job and has a great CV. He has worked in animes like One Punch Man and Fairy Tale, to name a few. While the American voice of Ethan, Greg Chun is known for his work in Neon Genesis Evangelion and Mob Psycho.

Overall Opinion

If you are an avid Anime viewer, you won’t find this unique, yet you can casually watch it and enjoy the action scenes and the character development. Those who have played the video game will have mixed reactions to this one as it follows a different storyline but has a lot of scope for world-building.
