Anime Digest

Ryomo didn’t have good luck in his former life. But three deities decide to give him a second chance in a fantasy world of magic. Ryomo Takebayashi is a young boy living by himself in a forest. Watch this drama to know how did he turn his fortune in the chance given by the deities.

The Feel-Good Part

The basic plot point of the drama is reincarnation because of the main character struggling throughout his life for which the god’s feel sorry for him and give him a second chance to live a life of a freebie and I feel many of the audience would for sure feel the thing of living a life of freebie, away from all the stresses and worries. This relatability factory will surely enhance the experience of this anime. Secondly, the artwork of this anime is like masterpiece. It’s not just perfect but is also nostalgic, it reminds us about the artworks of anime in 90’s. The music is an added plus point to this anime and especially, the intro music is a pure goosebumps stuff and coming to the ending song it’s the most punk one I heard in recent times. The series gives you a positive vibe because it is completely filled with joyful moments.

The Disappointing Factor

Majorly, there was nothing disappointing in this series but I felt a small void. A small void of action sequences and uniqueness. The series was a bit looming and unlike other anime series, By the Grace of the Gods isn’t jam-packed with action. Many prefer to watch anime for their action sequences and as ‘By the Grace of the Gods’ lack these sequences, at times we feel the series a bit small and boring. The series even lacks character interactions which resulting in lack of character development.

In Depth Analysis

In previous life, he was a tortured middle-aged Japanese office worker and he dies while sneezing. The god’s feel pity for him because he struggles a lot throughout his life and hence, wish to give him a second chance in magical world, for which he has attain some magical powers. The story deals with the journey of Ryomo Takebayashi, an eleven-year-old boy. The series shows the people he meets and how did they impact his life; how he enjoys his life of a freebie in the fantasy world; what he does in the fantasy world for living and how his present life differs from the previous one.

Star Power

The biggest star power for the series is Azusa Tadokoro who did the character of Ryoma. Her voice adds depth to the emotions and feeling of Ryoma and ensures that the audience connect to the journey of Ryoma. Another star power is Yuki Kuwahara who gave her voice to the character of Eliaria, the closest friend of Ryoma. Both the voice artists do their part in making By the Grace of the Gods a pleasure to our eyes.

Overall Opinion

I would recommend people to watch By the Grace of the Gods because in this pandemic time when most of the news we hear is a bad one, a positive series like this would for sure give us a slight relief and being from the genre of fantasy, this would successfully take us into the magical world and experience the beauty of the journey of Ryoma. It is a must watch drama during these hard-times.
