Drama digest:
This is an adult-Manga science fiction drama taking place in the post-apocalyptic world. The leads of the drama are an exterminator and a young girl who is in search of her mother.
The feel-good factor:
The English dubbing of the series is very well done. The plot is a good one. Character development is decent.
The disappointing factor:
The sexual life of Kido is a big problem in the show. The show promotes a lot of incest. Even though incest is nothing wrong, it has been portrayed on the show in an unhealthy way. The relationship between Ille and Kido is very awkward because the age difference between them is never adequately explained, still it is for sure that Kido is much older than Ille. Their first sexual encounter is Ille getting raped by Kido as he forces himself on her. This whole thing promotes the wrong idea among the viewers.
In-depth analysis:
As the description says, the story takes place in a post-apocalyptic world. It’s a story of the future- the year 2095. This apocalypse was caused by a disease spread by giant insects, which turns humans into insects in just a matter of 20 minutes. Due to this disease, there are limited humans left on earth. This disease turns humans into giant carnivore insects, which in turn feed on other humans. As a result of this life-threatening disease, the human race faces near extinction as 2/3rd of the human population depletes. The only way to stop the spread of the disease is to behead everyone infected by it. The lead of the series is an exterminator man named kido. When he starts to think he’s the only one surviving the insect apocalypse, he meets a man who sacrifices his life to save that of his young daughter. The dying wish of the man is for kido to protect his daughter, Ille at all costs and to make her meet her mother, Tanya. From there, kido and ille continue their journey together. As days pass by, kido starts to suspect that ille is not as regular as she seems as she had survived the insect attack that killed her father. The series continues with kido trying to discover the truth about ille and the insect apocalypse.
Star power:
Nobody on this show seems like an important personality that carries the show. Even though the character stories are decent, the characters do not make you feel any good.
Overall opinion:
Overall, apart from a few things, the series is an entire mess. It promotes extreme ideologies which lead to nothing. The most horrible thing about the series is its animation. In all, it’s not worth watching.
