TV Show Digest

This documentary narrates the beginning of a Thai pop band- 4MIX. It captures the beginning of the journey of a random selection of four people who dreamt of being artists. Folksong, Mcka, Ninja and J2 get randomly picked and auditioned. Their exhilarating performance binds them into one band. Soon, they started showing immense popularity, but then the pandemic hit, and for some months, everything was wide shut. Until they met again, only to face another disaster of J2 or Meng’s parting with the band. Nevertheless, George filled the void, and they are on their path to success. The documentary follows their dreams, style, former life, confusion and passion as they pave the staggering way to make their ambitions come true together.

In-Depth Analysis

Its editing is meticulous. Not only does it capture individual interviews of the band members, but it also includes clips of their practice videos. Thus, keeping the focus on their hard work and determination. This documentary will help boost their success and, as an upcoming band, will make them known in the global arena. They have already gained immense attention in Latin American regions. They are openly LGBTQ+ supportive and gender fluid. At a time when homosexuality, along with other non-binary sexualities, is frowned upon by most nations, 4MIX might be one of the few bands that challenge those distinctions and is bound to inspire and put hope into people. Their desire and confidence in the band’s identity can be figured from their dreams and belief in unity among themselves, as seen through this documentary. Even though they had a startling start with the leave of J2, the connection between members is a significant aspect, and George’s presence will hopefully fill that gap between them. Each episode focus on a topic relevant to the group’s popularity. People outside the members also contribute to the story. The members’ interviews speak from different perspectives and shared their thoughts on several situations, circumstances, fears and questions. Their journey began in 2019 with the signing of contracts. Cut to May 2020, when the members were revealed. Initially, they used to do dance covers for events. In October 2020, their profiles are released officially. They won “People’s choice awards” from J-Trends Popular Awards in 2020. Soon after, J2 left. Finally, in May 2021, their first official debut, ‘Y U Comeback’, came. George joined as the newest member, and their documentary was released after this. This was the complete and rough history of the band.

Star Power

Ninja Jarukit Khamhongsa, Mcka Natphatra Diloettrakun, Folksong Chaninthorn Boonrod and George Ramet Kiantisukudom are the current members of the band. Charukit Channarong aka Meng, J2 is the former member.

Overall Opinion

The documentary beautifully grasps the stories of these band members and more about their bands’ concepts and ideas. It is a must-watch to perceive this band’s picture.
