Drama Digest

Hit music group THE RAMPAGE is here to appear on your screens in a one-of-a-kind variety show. RUN! RUN! RAMPAGE!! is an original music, variety, and first terrestrial crown program surrounded by the boy group. In each episode, the boys participate in various physical games and talks. The group holds talk battles and a game plan. The show’s winner gets selected for the “reward location,” and the loser gets taken to the “hell location.”

What’s more? Each episode showcases an exceptional performance from the group. One of the songs that debuted on the show is the group’s new song, “All About Tonight,” which was written for the program.

The Feel-Good Part

The show is exceptionally wholesome and an all-around good time.  The members of THE RAMPAGE are delighted and joyful in this program, and it’s incredible to see them being silly, funny, and enjoying themselves. The games are light-hearted, the challenges are fun, and it’s fun to see them break out of their idol shell and just have fun. The show also highlights the groups’ musical talents by showcasing special performances in each episode. The performances are top-notch and excellent. With a perfect balance of skill, performance, and light-hearted moments, you can be sure to enjoy this show. The show is genuine, fun, and amazing to watch. We know pop idols to be polished, slick, outstanding, and fantastic performers. Seeing them break out of that role and have fun is terrific.

The Disappointing Factor

There’s not much to be disappointed with this show. It does not fail in any particular area, nor does it has anything that falls short. It has a neat concept and good execution, and the people working on and present in the show enjoy themselves. The only downside to this format is that it requires you to have prior knowledge of the musical group and its members to have some more profound connection with this show. It is a show that is primarily fan service. Therefore if you are not a fan or have no idea who THE RAMPAGE is, you may not enjoy this show that much. But even without the persona behind the characters, you may still find a lot of enjoyment in the silly, down-to-earth nature of the show.

In-Depth Analysis

Reality TV and variety shows surrounding a musical group or a boy group or girl group are not a new concept. Several examples of shows use this format and are highly successful with them. One such example is Run BTS. For the artist, it’s a great time to detox and relax. For the viewers and fans, it gives us more insight into the people behind the band, gives us a deeper connection with them, and allows us to have fun with them. The advantage of this show is that it is a game show rather than a show that follows them on their days or their day. It feels less invasive and casual, making for an effortless watch.

Star Power

Of course, the star of this show is the J-pop boy group sensation THE RAMPAGE. All members of this massive group are present on this show; RIKU, Kawamura Kazuma, Yoshino Hokuto, LIKIYA, Zin, Yamamoto Shogo, Kamiya Kenta, Yonamine Rui, Iawya Shogo, Fujiwara Itsukim Urakawa Shohei, Takechi Kaiseim Hasegawa Makoto, Ryu, Suzuki Takahide, and Goto Takuma. Zin takes the role of the MC in the talking challenges, which shows us a little bit of a pseudo-leader side to the singer. The show is released on three broadcast and streaming platforms; Nippon Television Network Corporation, Hulu, and dTV. The show is directed by Tokunaga Kiyotaka and Tokutake Yosuke.

Overall Opinion

Run! Run! Rampage is a perfect cool-down session for both the listeners of THE RAMPAGE and the members of the group themselves. The show gives us wholesome, funny, and exciting moments, showcases the boys in a different light, and allows the audience to fall in love with them even more. It’s a win-win situation for both parties. Therefore, you should check it out for a good time.
