Drama Digest

The iconic national musical variety show is back; this time, it’s better than ever. The continuation of Now You Sing welcomes a new challenge. The singers now move to a circular stage and perform according to the number of putts. The competitors face a new 3+1 competition system with three regular and one replay programs. Through the replay program, the participants get a chance to perform on the New Year’s Eve Stage. The second phase of the show is the Magic Golden Melody Contest, where the singers choose the team to join. The widespread and engaging singing competitions are back. How will the singers’ progress? What will they do this time around? And who will make it to the end? Watch the show and find out.

The Feel-Good Part

Perhaps the most significant part of the show as a whole is the talent that it presents. The talent is incredible, unbeatable, and always at the best level. The participants perform some of the best numbers in any singing competition and show a wide range of musical and performance styles with high expertise, skill, and talent. The show also gives these contestants opportunities that are out of this world. The most incredible opportunity to sing on Hunan Satellite TV’s New Year’s Eve stage broadcasts to a wide range of families across the country. What more? The show’s production value and look have not aged one bit. The show has good songs, warm energy, and a great feel. Perhaps that makes the show suitable, despite all the chaos and structural changes.

The Disappointing Factor

At some point, the show gets very confusing. There are so many rounds and rules that it becomes hard to keep up with them and genuinely enjoy the talented performances on screen. The show continues Now You Sing and does not necessarily follow the same format and structure as the original, making it a bit confusing for long-time and new viewers. It is by no means a beginner-friendly variety music show. However, if you are willing to put up with it, you may come to enjoy it. There is intense pressure on these contestants, but the show manages to keep it light and fun. Any competition show will have stress and stakes to it, and if you are not a fan of a little bit of pressure sprinkled within the show, then maybe this show is not for you.

In-Depth Analysis

The variety aspect of this show is on full display this season. Many rounds never seem to end and are different from one another. What makes the show so great is the mixture of music and variety. Spin Or Spin 2 continues with its lore from Now You Sing. It may come across as a bit chaotic, but overall it has some heart and beauty to it, making it a fantastic watch and a perfect and fun show regardless of whether you like musical reality shows.
