Movie Digest

Joy is the new maid of a royal family, whose previous maid mysteriously vanished and is now haunting and terrifying the household. Joy is on the lookout for the explanation for the former maid’s absence.

The Feel Good Part

The story’s twist was fantastic! And, as is customary in Thai Horror films, you will never be bored!!! Joy’s performances throughout the film will astonish and, of course, shock you! Definitely an award-winning film! In fact, The Maid is unmistakably Hollywood!!! The soundtrack was perfect for the horror atmosphere and giving the impression that something strange was going to happen. The film is divided into three chapters, the first of which introduces you to the child and the new maid Joy. The second chapter introduces you to everyone in the house’s complicated relationships, as well as a prospective relationship between the new and old maids. The third and final chapter is by far the most engaging, as the audience gets shown Joy’s genuine features, and Joy becomes more important to the tale than Ploy ever was. What sticks out the most in the film is the shift in narration from Ploy to Joy, as well as the relationship between the two characters.

The Disappointing Factor

The film’s creators appear to believe that gratuitous gore and bloodshed is vital for a decent horror film. The plot is shallow and predictable; one can probably foresee where the story is going after the first half hour.

In-Depth Analysis

The Maid is a paranormal slasher film set in Thailand in 2020. Joy is employed as a housemaid by Uma, Nirach, and their only child and daughter, Nid, from an affluent household. Mrs. Wan, the head housemaid, tells Joy not to meddle in their employers’ problems. Joy has strange happenings around the house, and she sneaks into Uma’s study at night, despite Wan’s caution. Ploy is Joy’s lost sister, and she finds a photo of Uma, Nirach, and the housemaid Ploy. Ploy’s ghost haunts the house, and only Joy and Nid can see it. The ghost informs Joy about the events surrounding Ploy’s death. Uma and Nirach’s marriage is loveless, and each of them had an intimate relationship with Ploy. Ploy and Nirach had a child, Nid, which irritated Uma. Ploy was later involved in a serious accident. Ploy was located first, and Uma refused to help or summon help. Ploy appeared to be dead by the time the rest of the family arrived. Ploy was buried alive by the household, who failed to notice that she had started breathing again as their labour neared completion. The ghost informs Joy about the events surrounding Ploy’s death. Star Power

The woman who played Joy gave an outstanding performance; her reactions when she reacted to various events were adorable and well-acted. The suspense and thrill factor were excellent. The cinematography was so stunning and vivid that it gave each scene a rich look. The music was enjoyable to listen to and well-produced. Overall, it’s a worth-watching picture that’s a terrific entertainer, and we can see this film because of the actress’s (who played the character of Joy) incredible performance.

Overall Opinion

Overall, the film is excellent. From beginning to end, it is interesting to watch.
