Movie Digest

Lenny, raised on the streets, was separated from her mother when she was young by an uncaring person. She was soon left behind and brought back to the road. She was fortunately saved and resided in temporary shelters until she met her current butler. Hee-seop, Lenny’s butler and the director of a documentary, is tired of city life. So he decides to take the camera to tell the stories of various cat butlers engaging in coexistence in ways distinct from his own.

The Feel-Good Part

This documentary is informational without focusing on scientific details much. You can grab a lot of information about cats from this documentary.

The Disappointing Factor

Making this documentary as a film was not necessary as they could have released it as a YouTube video or something like that. There is not anything different that stands out per se.

In-Depth Analysis

The film’s director, Lee Hee-seop, uses a lot of footage from all over South Korea to demonstrate that a cat’s survival, whether in this country or any other, comes before being cute. In some parts of the film, they portray cats getting into arguments with each other because one of them has grown too fond of the caretaker person who has been feeding them. Such scenes make cats more human-like. Intriguingly, some female cats seem to be mistaken for male cats. They also mention cats that have an extra X chromosome, called Calico cats. The documentary is not particularly concerned with science, local planning, or migration trends. It is an informational film about what it’s like to devote oneself to cats without having high hopes for rewards. The documentary serves as an example of how prevalent cats are in South Korean culture.

Star Power

Since it is a documentary regarding cats, there isn’t any specific star to be mentioned.

Overall Opinion

It is a pleasant documentary about cats. There is not anything interesting that will stand out from other videos about cats.
