Movie Digest

Seo Joon, who has lost everything due to voice phishing, infiltrates the organisation in China in order to see Kwak Pro, the system’s designer.

The Feel-Good Part

The film does an outstanding job of depicting how voice phishing schemes take advantage of the vulnerability people during times of uncertainty in a very realistic manner. It’s a heinous crime. In the film, there’s a line that reads, “Let’s show them a taste of hell,” and this is exactly what happens, as the fraudsters give the victims a little glimpse of happiness and joy, but it’s truly cold-blooded wickedness in disguise. Extremely nasty and gruesome, and it makes you question how a human person can commit such atrocities against another human being. The terrifying part is that all of this is true and is happening right now. Every day, people fall prey to these con artists.

The Disappointing factor

The movie abruptly deviates from its original course with around 30 minutes remaining. They seemed rushed to finish, which is disappointing because I thought what they had accomplished before was rather impressive. Nonetheless, I’d say that the general progress was brisk. Without much deeper engagement, a series, after a series, after a series.

In-Depth Analysis

One seemly average day, calls made to the families and colleagues of construction site workers. Several people have fallen victim to a terrible fraud as a result of these calls, and they have lost all of their savings. Seo-Jun, a former investigator who is now the head of the worksite that was targeted, is one of the victims. Seo-Jun begins tracing down the root of the voice phishing fraud in order to reclaim the 3 billion KRW that he and his coworkers lost and exact his retribution. He is successful in penetrating the call center in China, but he soon realises that the swindle is more more extensive than he anticipated.

Star Power

Kim Mu Yeol was outstanding right from the start. He was perfect for the part, and it was easy to believe he was a scam artist. I can’t claim that all of the roles were well-suited to the performers, or that all of them produced their greatest performances, but Kim Mu Yeol stood out. He’s a phenomenal actor, and his work in this film was the best I’ve seen from him in recent years.

Overall Opinion

In, there was plenty of action, thrills, a fascinating storyline, and suspenseful moments. These types of films are required to increase awareness. The more people are aware of voice phishing scams, the fewer people will fall for them. If the film assisted even one more individual avoid becoming a victim of these scams, then I consider it a success. If you enjoy criminal dramas or the main characters Byun Yo Han and Kim Mu Yeol, I suggest giving this a try.
