Drama Digest:

Otomo Kyoichi is an indecisive man who works in an advertising company. Even though he’s married he has been into affairs with a lot of girls. One day his wife hires a man to investigate if Kyoichi is having an affair or not from a jack of all trades company that does almost everything that their client requests them to do. That man is none other than Imagase Wataru, coincidently Wataru and Kyoichi are alibis. They were in college together but haven’t been in touch since they graduated. Wataru confesses his feelings for 7 years to Kyoichi and wants to be sexually involved with him. He asks Kyoichi to be in a relationship and for that he would not tell his wife about his affairs.

The feel-good part:

As it is based on a Manga changing some things for the big screen can be unpleasant but this is not the case in this movie. It makes the scenes aligned and makes them beautiful. The movie presents some amazingly flawed characters which make the audience connect to it more and more. Most characters have a story that intrigues the audience and immerses them in the movie.

The disappointing factor:

The movie is not as accurate as the Manga so manga lovers might just find it a bit disappointing. And this movie has some explicit scenes and nudity as well so a not-so-family movie for you guys.

In-depth analysis:

The movie presents people from two different worlds with their emotional baggage falling in love with each other. Breaking the stereotype which is one of the biggest barriers to society they form a bond. It is well supported by the melodious music which makes it more alluring for the audience. The myriad of feelings traps and webs the movie presents to us how society and life throw challenges into the paths of lovers. The movie explores the love realm of LGBTQ which is still not well received.

Star power:

Narita Ryo and Okura Tadayoshi are the two shining stars of the movie. They have justly played the roles well in the movie. The inscrutable and mysterious characters are well acted out making the audience hinged to their seats for more. Ryo displayed the fragile feelings of Wataru well. And as for Tadayoshi, he has this special skill of displaying what goes in his mind through his actions and acting skills.

Overall opinion:

This movie is like a diamond in the rough, presenting you with all the inscrutable human emotion and psyche. If you are into mangas and love the BL genre then you must watch it. Its beautifully haunting to your senses and the music will give you shivers. Even though the movie is a little bit different from the manga it is not despicable, it gives a good taste to the audience even after its modifications.
