In-Depth Analysis

The short-length movie depicts the relationship between two people beautifully and shows how not every relationship needs a tag or label on it. The ambiguous nature of the bond between the two main characters is the highlight of the movie. The Secret of Guan Guan is more philosophical and also explores the genre of slice-of-life. The cinematography is praise-worthy. The good script is supported by good acting from the actors.

Star Power

The main characters of the movie are played by Chinese actors Zha Jie and Zhu Jie. Fans may recall the two of them acting together in the Chinese television series, Men with Swords and its second season, which was a historical-wuxia and also featured BL romance, and was released in 2016.
