In-Depth Analysis
The movie revolves around the story of a nurse, An Ran who is strong on career path to become a doctor. She moved to Beijing as a student. When she was at University her parents had a son An Ziheng and Ran is totally unfamiliar with him neither she cares for him. Sadly, her parents died in a car accident and that accident changed the lives of both the siblings. An unexpected obligation destroyed her career. Now, Ran has to take care of her brother along with her studies, hospital shifts. She also has to look after her aunt and uncle. The relationship between both of the siblings had a disastrous start off but with time they develop a strong bond. This film is the sophomore effort of the filmmaker. The filmmaker Ruoxin has come from humble beginnings with her debut film White Sun.
Star Power
The main actress Zhang has performed her role fantastically. The character that Ran goes through is simple but Zhang makes the trek amassed. The supporting cast also played their roles with ingenuity. The screen writer has done a commendable job in balancing the conflicts of character as well as story.
Overall Opinion
Sister is an engaging movie. But the movie is predictable. The film succeed in being a emotional string and thought provoking.
