Movie Digest

It narrates the tale of Hu Bayi, who led the Golden Triangle into the Iron Triangle after leaving the Longling Cave to safeguard the toxic huge golden tooth. In Pingshan, Xiangxi, there is a legend about finding the long-lost six-winged centipede and learning the inner alchemy that would save their lives. Hu Bayi with his team sets on an adventure to find the legendary creature. On the way on this journey, Hu Bayi and his team encounter a series of misfortunes but they survive. They have a map they need to follow and the journey is very difficult to carry out. Apart from all this the group also has to face betrayals.

The Feel-Good Part

The basic plot line of this movie has a lot of capability. The adventure and the legendary creatures of the film are eye-catching. This movie uses Zhe Gu Shao’s scenes for comedy and his honesty is the best part of this movie.

The Disappointing Factor

As already stated the plot line of this movie has a lot of eye-catching factors but the execution of the film is done horribly. The tomb raiding scenes have so much more potential to them but they are very poorly shown. The cinematography could’ve made up for the poor execution but it fails to do so. Overall the film is just wasted potential.

In-Depth Analysis

The plot revolves around Hu Bayi and his team trying to find the legendary six-winged centipede. They set out on an adventure that involves a lot of effort and determination. They show Hu Bayi to be the smart one but he makes the dumbest decisions. Hu Bayi repeatedly falls for the same trick used by the antagonist. The filmmakers have tried to add everything to the movie but unfortunately, they fell short in adding logic to it. Hu Bayi’s team which is supposed to be the heroic group does the most reckless things. The movie is directed and executed very poorly.

Star Power

Films usually don’t do well when the direction is poor but with this film, the blame goes to both the directors and the actors. None of the actors were good when compared to Zhe Gu Shao.

Overall Opinion

There are a lot of other good tomb raiding movies out there. This movie is not worth the time and energy as every part of this film is disappointing.
