Movie Digest
A fantasy movie set in a historical time, the movie is about human emotions and greed between the three main characters Gong Rong, Lang Ling and Qi Liu.
The Gong clan is in the power of a mystical black robe and its possessor becomes immortal. King Liu desires the robe and, in his bid, to acquire it, kills the Gong clan excepting Gong Rong.
Gong Rong swears revenge but, in the process, meets Lang Ling, King Liu’s childhood sweetheart. They fall in love. The King finds out and seeks to kill Gong Rong who mysteriously disappears.
The movie unfolds the mystery a year later. Will Gong Rong get his revenge and re-unite with Lang Ling is the movie.
The Feel-Good Part
Stunning cinematography with music and sound. The action sequences are also bang on.

The movie is very lengthy.
In-Depth Analysis
The Gong clan possesses a mysterious black robe and the wearer of it will achieve immortality. King Liu wishes to own it and will do anything to have it. In his quest for the robe, he annihilates the entire clan barring one Gong Rong.
Gong Rong swears revenge but runs into Liu’s sweetheart Lang Ling. They develop feelings and fall in love. The King who has spies everywhere finds out about it and attempts to kill Gong Rong. During the battle between them, Gong Rong falls off a bridge and disappears.
A year later, Lang Ling is forced to marry King Liu. During their marriage festivities, enters a magician who is Gong Rong.
The story is whether Gong Rong’s gets his revenge and Lang Ling and what happens to the black robe.
Star Power
Aaron Yan and Lai Yu Meng play the lead couple. While the female lead is ethereal, the male lead needed to be more expressive.
Overall Opinion
If you are okay with the movie duration and love fantasy action, then it is a one-time watch.
