Movie Digest

In Yunsheng Dynasty, Fox demons and evil spirits awakened, and the whole kingdom felt terrorized by it. Emperor was investigating this menace, but he passed away. On his deathbed, he orders Princess Sheng Ning to marry General Bai Yi, also known as the Dragon Slayer. But the Princess is not happy with the arrangement and refuses the marriage. Soon after, General Bai Yi saves the Princess from the deadly demons, and they both come closer through this situation. After getting rescued by the General, the Princess starts falling for him. The budding romance is cut short because of the dangerous creatures lurking around for the Princess. The General is trying his best to keep her from getting harmed.

The Feel-Good Part

The visuals of this movie are incredible and well presented, even though it looked haphazardly edited. The cast also did a good enough job. The story had an unstable beginning, but the second half got interesting and engaging storylines. The movie had drama and romance at its center with a fascinating fantasy storyline.

The Disappointing Factor

The movie had too many plot holes with no character development throughout. This movie does not give time to understand this new world but pushes the plot and expects the viewers to grasp the situation from the beginning. There was no detailing or polishing of the storylines or characters with just some basic rough outlined plot. The special effects and costumes were all out of place and unsuitable for this period piece. The entire movie setting is weirdly edited and felt choppy to watch because of its inconsistency.

In-Depth Analysis

It is a fantasy romance movie about General Bai Yi and Princess Sheng Ning, who got forced to marry each other under the orders of the late Emperor. Princess tries to run away but is captured at the very last moment, though he forces her to be with the General. But then the evil monsters and sorcerers begin lurking around the kingdom who are trying to gain power through injustice. The Princess starts falling for the General against her wishes. Somehow the Princess is in danger from a dark evil fox spirit who can possess anybody he wants, and the General tries his best to save her life until his last breath. The good triumphs over the evil and the lengths someone can go to have wealth and power got realistically shown in this movie.

Star Power

Jin Yo Mi plays the female protagonist, Princess Sheng Ning, and Wen Zhuo portrays the character of General Bai Yi. Yuan Zhi Ying plays Prince Rui, and Vency Wen plays the role of Bie Jin as a supporting actor in this movie.

Overall Opinion

It might be a good enough movie for fantasy romance lovers even with its average plot and execution. This movie does offer a sweet and well-built romance which might be the upside of this movie. This movie could be a good enough pick to kill some time with being entertained for a while.
