“The Killer’s Shopping List” is a Korean television series adapted from a novel. Ahn Dae Sung, despite having a great memory failed the civil service exam consecutively for three years. He works part-time at the convenience store owned by his mother. A murder takes place in an apartment building near their store. Ah-Hee, a police officer and also the girlfriend of Dae Sung decides to investigate this along with Dae Sung and his mother Myung Sook. Will these rookies be able to uncover the true identity of the culprit?

The Feel-Good Part

The whole series is fun to watch. We can see an interesting crime investigation along with great humor. The mother’s character is very interesting and fun to watch, she is a strong person who takes good care of her son. The mother-son conversations are very wholesome and entertaining.

The Disappointing Factor

The only disappointing factor is that the killer’s identity is predictable. It would have been even perfect with more suspense elements.

“Ahn Dae Sung has had exceptional memory since he was young, but despite having a great memory failed the civil service exam consecutively for three years. His mother, Myung sook runs a convenience store on the outskirts of Seoul. He helps his mother as a part-timer while preparing for the exam.  A murder takes place in an apartment building near their store. Ah-Hee is a police officer and also Dae Sung’s girlfriend. She feels responsible as she is a cop and decides to investigate the murder on her own. She finds a surprising clue in her boyfriend’s mart. She discovers the killer’s shopping list. The story unfolds as these three uncover the identity of the killer.

Star Power

Lee Kwang Soo and all the other actors did an excellent job portraying their characters. It is refreshing to see Lee Kwang Soo playing a different role than in most of his dramas where he has more silly-type characters.

Overall Opinion

Overall, it is a light-hearted crime investigation that has suspense which doesn’t stress you a lot due to the comedy. It is worth watching.
