Drama Digest

Despite the rivalry of their fathers, two university students, Man and Saifah, form a friendship at a boxing gym as they tackle family drama, romance, and personal crises.

The Feel-Good Part

In addition to the limited number of episodes, the acting of the main characters and their character arcs make this drama a good weekend binge-watch. The story picks up in the second episode and holds your attention until the end. The show never gets dull, and there are also other entertaining subplots. The love triangle was the most exciting aspect of the story since the conclusion was surprising. All three characters in this triangle shared certain cute and intimate moments.

The Disappointing factor

A particularly dissatisfying aspect of this series is that it pursued specific plots to their conclusion while abandoning others. Some of the crucial climax points were just a soapy mess. And supporting characters were not even given the bare minimum. Supporting characters like Ying and Dandao had random and forced endings for their side plots.

The direction and camera work were also below average, and the set designs looked cheap. They probably edited a few scenes and called it a day for most of the series. The awful editing of one particular accident scene took away the seriousness of the whole matter. Since this was a boxing performance, anticipating the boxing and fighting to be a little better is a given, but anyone could tell that no one was striking and the choreography was lacking.

 In-Depth Analysis

To start, some characters had poorly written character arcs, and the stories given to them ended without proper closure for the viewers. The parents in the show were terrible. The supposedly biggest plot twist in the tenth episode was irrational. The deficient handling of severe matters like alcohol poisoning made matters worse. Some of the characters had done unforgivable things, but instead of showing the consequences of their actions, they were just forgiven. The executors poorly wrapped up their parts.

While they managed to depict the problems young adults and teenagers go through well, they failed to show the tangible ways they are dealt with and opted for messy, dramatic plots.

Star Power

Peemapol Panichtamrong as Man and Phiravich Attachitsataporn as Safaih did tremendous jobs in portraying their characters as well as executing the poorly written narrative with some substance.

The other characters Ninna Yanin Opassathaworn as Hongyok and Kanyaphak Pongsak as Ying also did justice to their characters. The character of Dandao felt plastic and unreal at some times. Whether it was the doing of writing or facial expressions ( or lack thereof) of the actress is hard to gather.

Overall Opinion

It’s not a show to be gone over with a fine-tooth comb. If anyone’s motivation is unpredictable love triangles and the chemistry of the characters, then this Thai drama can make up for a perfectly engaging quick watch despite its shortcomings. If someone wants to watch for the graphics or fighting aspects, then they’re knocking at the wrong door.
