Drama Digest
This Thai series is of the boys’ love genre featuring the infamous BL stars of Thailand, Earth Pirapat and Mix. The story depicts the lives of two siblings, a brother and a sister, who swap bodies with each other due to a surprising incident. This happens because of some sort of curse that follows both of them after the accident.
The Feel-Good Part
The body-swapping idea of the series was a unique one. Special mention to the actors about the way they acted when they were supposed to act like each other in the other’s body. Jan (Lin) playing Win, a man, was really good, and Mix (Win) playing Lin, a woman, was exceptional. Women’s problems with menstruation, PMS, etc, were portrayed hilariously well in the series.
The Disappointing Factor
Win’s mom was an absurd character on the show who was a homophobic person and had a hard time accepting Win’s sexuality.
In-Depth Analysis
Win and Korn have been best friends since childhood. Out of them, Win has a twin sister named ‘Lin.’ Korn is mature, understanding, caring, cold, and openly gay. While Win is rash, a bit spoiled, hot-tempered, and childish. Lin is a hot-tempered and aggressive personality too. Win and Korn have been extremely close since they were young. They were closer than best friends should be. Korn had always been in love with Win from the start, but could never bring himself to express his feelings. While Win thought whatever was between him ad Korn is really normal and that all friends behave like them. One fine day causes a wreck in the Warodom household (Win and Lin’s Family name) when their father includes Korn in his will as well. Everybody gets confused by this and is hesitant about the decision. Win’s mother does not like this decision at all and conflict arises between the family members. Win and Korn’s friendship of 22 years seems to see its end. Soon after, Win and Lin get into a car accident leaving them severely injured and causing their souls to swap bodies with each other. After they are taken to the hospital, they are told about the ways to regain their own bodies. It was to collect holy water from four temples across the country within seven days. As Win’s body is in a coma with Lin’s soul, Lin’s body with Win’s soul sets out on the mission. Throughout all this, Korn decides to accompany Win as Lin and help them return to their original selves. In the entire journey of this water-fetching, Win learns a lot about spirituality because he meets many monks on the way. Every new road teaches him something new, transforming him into a new, more mature person. Korn who is by his side in all this, does not for a moment, forget that he’s with Win even though he was looking at Lin’s body. Win returns with the holy mixture as a much calmer person and Win and Lin are finally able to get back into their own bodies. In this process, Win falls in love with Korn and Korn falls deeper than he already was. But after waking up, Win’s mother causes problems between them by asking Korn to marry Lin instead of Win to be eligible for retaining the inheritance. To this, Korn agrees, which further creates confusion. This is Win and Korn’s story through all of this.
Star Power
Earth and Mix, who play Korn and Win respectively were huge stars and a star couple even before the show, hence, the audience had looked forward to this series.
Overall Opinion
Overall, it is a dramatic BL drama, which has its ups and downs. It is interesting as well as upsetting at a few parts.
