Drama Digest

It is a Korean web drama that follows the life of some teenagers in their senior year before they are bound to appear in their entrance exams. Jin Ah, Yu Ri, Chan Sol and Do Yoon are friends and they all have their struggles to go through every day.

Jin Ah tries her best to study hard bus is disheartened by her grades and feels inferior to her friends and her sister, to who she is constantly compared with. While she is not either popular or exceptionally good at studies, her friend Yu Ri is both pretty and gets top grades at school, which at times bothers Jin Ah. Chan Sol, another of their friend, is a previous soccer player who had to give up on his dreams of being a soccer player due to an injury. He has been in love with Jin Ah for a long time but finds it very difficult to confess. On the other hand, Do Yoon is the perfect student with top grades at first glance ,but we can later see how pressured he is by his mother to excel at everything.

The Feel-Good Part

This drama has a very realistic portrayal of the struggles students have to go through and is thus very relatable to many. It also focuses on multiple characters and gives an in-depth exposure to their back stories and the challenges each of them has to face. It has a very well-handled execution of the story line, which includes themes like pressure to excel at studies, poverty, inferiority complex, bullying, friendship, betrayal, romance, jealousy, etc. It has a very well-balanced and well-depicted story, and the romance was not forced at all and blended nicely with the story.

The Disappointing Factor

There is not much to be disappointed over in the series as the things shown in it are pretty realistic and the show provides justice to each of the characters.

In-Depth Analysis

The story was very adept in incorporating several genres without making it look overcooked or half-baked. The drama’s title comes from the name of Jin Ah’s textagram account, where she expresses her everyday struggles in her own words, as suggested by Chan Sol. Her page has become popular among the students of her school as many of them find it relatable.

We also see how she is bullied by her classmates later in the story when she dumps a boy who dated her only to make Yu Ri jealous. While Jin Ah expects her to stand up for her, Yu Ri never does as she is afraid of being the next target of the bullies due to her previous experience of getting bullied in her old school.

Eun Bin is another student from the same class who does consistently good at school, but her family struggles financially, which makes her feel inferior to others. Her situation was also beautifully portrayed in the story.

Star Power

The complete cast did a perfect job while acting their characters and did their best to make all the characters come alive wonderfully to depict this beautiful story of teenagers.

Overall Opinion

This is an easy watch and a great web drama with very relatable elements to it, especially if you are 18-20 years old and going through similar struggles to fulfill the expectations of elders and society.
