Drama Digest

Credited as the first Korean sitcom on Netflix, So Not Worth It is a great sitcom narrating the life of a group of students living at a college dormitory in Seoul. The person in charge of the dormitory, Se-wan, is a teaching assistant, and the character Jamie is a student from the US. Minnie is a drama addict from Thailand and Hyun min a Korean student. People from different backgrounds and having different personalities are put together in a dorm under the charge of Se-wan.

The feel-good part

The soundtracks are the key highlight in this drama. The Ost sung by Youngjae was so beautiful that it added a subtle magical element to it. The guts they took to discuss controversial topics are appreciable. It was a new approach in Korean dramas. The characters were relatable and likable. Kpop fans would go crazy for their favorites being cast but the drama did not make use of them effectively.

The disappointing factor

It has been so long since a Korean sitcom was presented in front of its huge fan base. But the drama did not live up to its expectations. The excellent cast line lacked a luster making them dull.  Some of their jokes were outdated and did not get any chuckles from the viewers. They failed to serve the purpose constantly.

In-depth analysis

Minnie and Youngjae, despite being their first time acting, did an amazing job. The chemistry between Jamie and Se-wan was incredible and nothing short of extraordinary.

Star Power

Starring Park Se-wan as a Korean advisor in charge of the dormitory, Shin Hyun-swung, Choi Young-Jae, Minnie, and Han Hyun-min did a wonderful job in presenting their roles. They shared wholesome chemistry and the characterization was perfect.

Overall opinion

This is one of those feel-good rare dramas that tickle your soul. Even if there is nothing remarkable about it, this is an outstanding drama, if you are looking to binge-watch.
