Drama Digest
The main cast includes Jung Jin Young, Won Mi Kyung, Choo Ja Hyun, and a few more. My Unfamiliar Family is a drama that, to the eyes, simultaneously feels old and new. The Show has more twists and turns than a typical Korean drama, which makes it feel almost (but not quite) like watching a soap opera. However, there is also a good deal to unpack with this Show, giving it a meaty, serious vibe. Overall, Show has a spicy and engaging feel while being honest, heartbreaking, and provocative.
The Feel-Good Part
The writing for this play is pretty fantastic. We learned that all families are similar after hearing some incredibly relatable facts about being a family. Despite the family’s predicament being somewhat overblown, it was enjoyable to see how they resolved their challenging issues in each episode.
The Disappointing Factor
However, there were instances when all of these recurring events made the narrative a little stuffy and thus tiresome. The romance was a slow-burn love story that, regrettably, ended abruptly.
In-Depth Analysis
An older man’s wife and three adult children wish to split, and they all have communication problems. He had an accident that caused him to forget all his souvenirs from when he was 22 and made him a loving man once again. And his family members begin to mend fences and communicate with one another once more. Everybody gradually recovers in the process.
The second half focuses on settling the conflicts introduced in the first half, which features several story twists. The pace may be slow in the early episodes, and it sometimes felt like nothing was going on.
Star Power
The timing matched the tale nicely, and the performances were excellent. Each actor did a fantastic job. Each relationship was given life and made accessible by them. The actors were superbly cast since they seemed to embody their roles.
Overall Opinion
This is not a drama you should watch only for fun. Because it felt so genuine while watching it, like one could picture every scenario in front of themselves, I do not doubt that this drama will stick with you for a long time if you want to watch a drama with a lovely message.
