The Feel-Good Part
Jiao Jia Ren was considered the best in her hometown, where there were hardly any medical facilities. Still, when she enters Gu Jia Ren’s elitist institution Tongxin, she finds herself to be nothing more than ordinary. Witnessing her personal growth and transformation and watching her overcome the many adversities her way is a substantial feel-good factor for the viewers. The romantic aspect of the drama brings forward many heartwarming moments that viewers can’t get over. The navigation of the love stories throughout the show’s progression also intensifies the pressure faced by the medical staff as their workload increases manifold owing to the intensification of the covid pandemic.
The Disappointing Factor
Even though the drama has a majority of the content working in its favor, it can get cliched when it comes to the romantic side, and we do not see anything unexpected. The scenes the viewers expected and wanted to watch in the romances were cut, however, to bring to light the scenes showing the hardships of the pandemic. It does get boring to see the same storylines focusing on the pandemic taken up by many dramas and soap operas, and it is still a recurring theme.
In-Depth Analysis
The drama brings to the screen the story of a girl who looked up to the person who saved her life as a child so much that she also chose the same career path. It has a new plot and not the same age-old boy meets girl love story. The drama focuses more on Jiao Jia Ren’s emotional journey, which has not always been the happiest, and brings to light the underlying difficulties faced by the people in the same profession as they devote their lives to the well-being of others, along with being in love and taking care of their loved ones.
Star Power
Chen Xiao(Deng Zi Ang) and Olivia Wang(Jiao Jia Ren) put their best foot forward as they bring the romance into the drama while portraying the pressures under which the medical staff works. The characters, apart from the main ones, have also put in their best efforts to sell the tragic scenes to their fullest.
Overall Opinion
This Chinese drama caters to the audience looking forward to watching shows that lighten the medical profession and the pressures they have to endure. It also brings to light the romances that exist in the workplace and the ups and downs that come with romantic relationships.
