“Moonshine” is a drama that takes place during Joseon era, where a strict ban on alcohol is established. Ro Seo is the daughter of a poor noble family. Ro Seo needs to pay off her debts so she does anything to earn money despite being a noblewoman, So She starts selling liquor illegally. Nam Yeong is an inspector from Saheonbu and he values integrity. These two are polar opposites, the story unfolds as this chaotic duo start living under same roof.

The Feel-Good Part

The concept is unique and the witty and bold personality of Ro Seo is very entertaining. Comedy, politics, and romance we get to see all this in one place. It is a light-hearted comedy which is very appealing.

The Disappointing Factor

It would have been better with more romance as it concentrates more on change in their lives with the ban on liquor.

In-Depth Analysis

Moonshine is a brand of a corn whisky. It is called so as it is made at night. Due to prohibition of alcohol in Joseon, Ro Seo illegally makes and sells alcohol to support her family and pay off their debts. Nam Yeong is an inspector who is very righteous and strict. He catches Ro Seo selling alcohol. This ban on alcohol makes everyone very anxious which leads them to selling and buying it illegally including the crown prince Lee Pyo and it sells at a high price as it’s sold illegally. They work together to lift the ban.

Star Power

Hyeri ang Yoo Seung-Ho suit each other very well and most of the cast are decent actors and did an excellent job.

Overall Opinion

Overall, it is a light-hearted comedy along with hint of mystery. It is very enjoyable and worth watching.
