Drama digest

This is a mystery K-drama that revolves around mysterious events that have taken place in the characters’ pasts. In order to find out the truth, the main leads are set on a journey of discovery.

The Feel-good part

The series is said to be excellent for its writing and for incorporating suspense in a high school drama. The best part about the drama is how the story unfolds. Also, the music helps sustain the suspense. Every character is suspicious until the end.

The disappointing factor

The female lead can seem like a significant issue of the show. She’s expressionless in the most critical moments. For example: when her brother dies, she lacks the portrayal of grief and shock. Also, the misery surrounding the male lead seems too much sometimes. He’s already suffering from a terminal disease, but his life keeps falling apart even more, which is disturbing and upsetting. Some episodes are more boring than others.

In-depth analysis

This drama is basically a revenge thriller which takes place among high school students. The female protagonist, Ok Chan Mi, is a nineteen-year-old. She has a twin brother, Ok Chan kyu, who studies in a different school. Chan Mi is interested in sports and is a practitioner of shooting. She has also represented her high school in shooting competitions. One fine day, the news of her twin brother’s suicide comes out. Chan Mi is shocked to her very core. Along with grief, she also feels suspicious about her brother’s suicide. She’s entirely sure that her brother can’t commit suicide as he was not that sort of person. In order to find out the truth behind her brother’s death, she transfers to his high school. The name of Chan Kyu’s high school is Yong Tak. On the other hand, the male protagonist, Ji Soo Heon, who is of the same age as Chan Mi, has a different purpose. After learning that he has a brain tumor in the terminal stage, he decides to live his life differently. The doctors had told him that he has less than a year to live, hence he wants to make the most out of it. Soo Heon decides to spend the rest of his life helping people who are victims of bullying. As he has had his own history of being bullied, he doesn’t want anyone else in his school to suffer anymore. He encourages the victims to fight against their bullies through violence. There are other supporting characters in the story as well which contribute towards the growing suspense episode by episode the story mainly focuses on its leads and how they discover the truth behind the incidents concerning them and how they help others too.

Star power

No specific character was specifically the star of the show as different things kept happening to different people at different times. The real stars of the show are the writers, as the story-writing is excellent.

Overall opinion

Even after some sloppy moments, the thrill of the drama keeps us on our toes. It is a recommended high school drama to watch.
