Drama Digest

Goo Yeo Reum is a television producer who is in the tenth year of her professional career. Although she works harder than others still, her shows seem to flop. She was selected to produce a new reality dating show Kingdom of Love. Her neighbour and best friend, Park Jae Hoon, a plastic surgeon, has lost all his passion for work. They had a pure relationship, but it was platonic. Park Jae Hoon has also given up on love. He only pursues a casual relationship. Goo Yei Reum runs into struggles in the planning stage of the show and faces difficulty in finding suitable bachelors to appear on the program. She turns to Park Jae Hoon in desperation. He agreed to become a contestant on the show to help her. But in this unfamiliar dynamic as a producer and a cast member, they expected to begin developing never-felt-before romantic feelings.

The Feel-good Part

It was a light-hearted drama and easy to watch. The drama mainly focused on being a dating show.

The Disappointing Factor

The drama slowly lost its charm. The editing was disappointing they could have taken better care.

In-depth Analysis

The dating show concept was amazing. The first half and second half vary due to the shift from focus on the main relationship to mainly focusing on the dating show. The title also summarises the drama well. The second lead was sweet and likable. John Jang’s character development was amazing. As the story progressed, he was the most liked character. Friends to lovers is a hard sub-genre to get. It was a balanced rom-com drama.

 Star Power

The acting was good, and the characters were likeable. The leads were veteran actors and they played their roles well. Choi Si Won faced difficulty in portraying deep emotions.

Overall Opinion

It is a cheesy drama but not unbearable. The plot was simple but reasonably built and interesting, but occasionally it went backward. The actual story didn’t start till episode five, it was just the introduction of characters and their backstories.
