The drama is set in a small town in 1999 where a recording tape is discovered, which consists of a mysterious murder and an unidentified bizarre sound.

In 1989, a terrorist Kyung Ho came back from Japan and spread sarin gas at a train station in his hometown, causing the death of thousands. Eventually, he got caught and was imprisoned. His daughter Jo Jae Young was sent to live with her aunt, who is Kyung Ho’s sister, Jo Jung Hyun.

After ten years, a murder case takes place in a town, and detective Choi Hyung is in charge of the case whose wife died during 1989’s terrorist attack. In the meantime, Jo Jae Young goes missing, and her aunt Jo Jung Hyun teams up with detective Choi Hyung to discover the truth and her niece.

The Feel-Good Part

This drama is a psychological thriller. From start to end, this drama is successful in keeping viewers hooked to this drama. The mystery condenses as the story progressed. The investigation part in this drama is very intriguing.

In the first few episodes, the drama pace is on the spot. This makes viewers understand the plot easily.

The OSTs here are not like rom-com drama. But the soundtrack suits well with the plot. It helps to create an eerie feeling in the scenes that will make your hair stand.

Star Power

The actors are outstanding in their roles, especially the leading actors. Yoo Jae Myung, as detective Choi Hyung In is spectacular in his acting. He is an experienced actor, and we can see that shadow of experience in his balanced acting. The award-winning Han Ye Ri as Jo Jung Hyun also performed well in her role. She can pull through a victim’s family role. The antagonist, Uhm Tae Goo’s acting as Jo Kyung Ho, is worth appreciation. His subtle voice, demeanor make him perfect for the role of a terrorist.

The Disappointing Factor

In the later episodes, the pace of the drama is not that good. After the first half episodes, the plot becomes predictable, which is a major drawback for a thriller drama. But otherwise, there are not that many flaws in this drama.

In-Depth Analysis

This drama includes various shades of human characters. An investigator who is capable of handling cases failed to protect his wife ten years ago in a terrorist attack. It shows that every person has regret in their life. A successful person is also a human being with broken emotions.

It shows the desperation of a family member while finding her precious niece.

The drama starts with a murder case that, in turn, includes the kidnapping of a schoolgirl, and eventually, many previous cases are dug out to solve the recent kidnapping case. To find her niece, Jo Jung Hyun tried to help Choi Hyung In to help in his case. There are a series of mysteries that will compel the viewers to watch this show.

Overall Opinion

Overall this drama is a good mystery thriller. Those who prefer thriller drama, especially psychological thrillers should give it a try. Though the drama is not flawless it is worth your time. The viewers won’t regret watching this.
