Drama Digest

“Alice, The Final Weapon” is a South Korean thriller series released in 2022. The story revolves around a girl named Gyro Wool, who holds a dark secret. She is a trained assassin. She hides her identity by appearing as a transfer student. She tries her best to blend into the environment and not appear suspicious, but it becomes difficult after she meets Yeo Reum.

The Feel-Good Part

This drama is a work of dark and depressing storylines. Many viewers watched the show because of the attractive storyline. The dark comedy that they tried to portray was successful. The second part of the show was even more intensified. It does not show fantasy. Instead, it is a teenage story sequence. It shows us about living at the extremes, which is not something related to reality. The cinematography of the fight scenes is excellent. There are a few clumsy scenes in the show but it still holds up till the end, which does not make it complicated because of the short length. Even if it is a thriller, the humor in the show was on point.

The Disappointing Factor

The plot has a lot of loopholes left unexplained. They tried to incorporate many elements into the show but failed. It could not excel in anything, neither romance nor action. If you go on looking for realistic psychology in the show, it won’t be enjoyable. The ending of the show is also pretty predictable.

In-Depth Analysis

They trained Alice to be an assassin since she was a kid. She escapes from that life and now uses her skills to survive in the present world. She joins a local high school and lives life as a normal high schooler. There she meets Yeo Reum. Yeo Reum differs from his classmates and spends most of his time alone because of his past trauma. He does not feel any emotions. But he feels alive whenever he experiences pain. His form of “normal life” is the one with pain in it. Yeo Reum realizes something about Gyeo Wool and gets involved in it. Initially, they did not plan to be involved in each other’s lives, but they had to team up and stay together when a criminal organization started hunting them down.

Star Power

All the actors in the show provided outstanding performances, especially Park Se Won and Song Geon Hee, who played Gyeo Wool and Yeo Reum. Their relationship together had great dynamics and the characters grow together.

Overall Opinion

Overall, the show will give you mixed feelings and complex thoughts. There are some twisted characters and loopholes in the plot which degraded the show to some extent. But it is also enjoyable as a simple teenage dream series.
