Drama Digest

The series, which consists of six ten-minute episodes, is a fantasy comedic web drama about three students who mistakenly time travel and arrive in the present day while studying in Seowon. It was shot at nine Seowon (UNESCO World Heritage sites) and starred up-and-coming actors and actresses such as Choi Ji Su, Noh Sang Hyun, Lee Se Jin, and Gong Jae Hyun.

The Feel Good Part

The series aims to raise awareness of “Seowon,” the Neo-Confucian academies that existed in Korea during the Joseon era (15th – 19th century). In 2019, the UNESCO World Heritage Register listed nine Seowon (Sosu-seowon, Namgye-seowon, Oksan-seowon, Dosan-seowon, Piram-seowon, Dodong-seowon, Byeongsan-seowon, Museong-seowon, and Donam-seowon). It’s also wonderful to observe how the three scholars assisted the girl in achieving her goals even though the scholars had limited time because they needed to complete some errands back in time. There are quite a few emotionally charged situations in the story that reveal mature and strong chemistry between the characters.

The Disappointing Factor

We don’t know if the characters have affection for one other because this is such a short series that we can’t conclude. There is a cliffhanger – one of the academics returned to the current world solely to see the girl again. Viewers are hoping for a second season of this miniseries. The only thing that this series lacks in is length. There is a startlingly little genuine conflict or stakes, which wouldn’t be so awful if it weren’t for the utter absence of good comedy throughout the series.

In-Depth Analysis

To summarise, this miniseries greatly inspires tourists about the glories of Korea’s cultural history and beautiful places to explore. Not to mention, we can hear or see riddles and locations that helped advertise and glimpse the beauty of Korea’s locales in the series alone. It reminds us that helping strangers can help you achieve your goals in life. It is one of the nicest (if not the best) miniseries I’ve seen that promotes Korea’s rich culture and traditions and helps me comprehend how strangers may become friends or lovers?

Star Power

The ensemble is beautiful and has worked hard to show as many emotions and passion while acting as possible in this short span of drama series.

Overall Opinion

For a short and light-hearted romantic comedy, it does fairly well and will engross you in wanting more.
