Movie Digest

The main character of this drama is Fujiki Keisuke, a genius neurosurgeon with immense medical knowledge and superb surgical skills. He believes a doctor’s purpose is to treat all patients in the same way, including criminals. But one day, the murder of our protagonist’s lover occurs, and the police mark him the prime suspect. To prove his innocence and find out who killed his lover, Fujiki Keisuke goes on the run, becoming a fugitive. But while he is running away from the police to evade arrest, he comes across sick and injured people who need help. He uses his skills to save these people without proper equipment, showcasing his ingenuity and dedication to saving lives.

The Feel Good Part

The plotline is fast-paced and showcases Fujiki being chased by cops while he looks for clues to solve his lover’s murder and helps the ill. The stunning cinematography complements the suspense and thrill of the story. The humor of the drama helps balance the high-stakes chase at its core.

The Disappointing Factor

The show tries to balance two genres, comedy and gore, and fails miserably. Due to this imbalance, the drama hovers between a grave and light-hearted tone and ends up being a disappointing mixture of both. The main character’s “genius” medical skills come off as ridiculous- like performing surgeries with a cutter and a whiskey bottle and making a microscope with ice. The plot is also hugely cliché, and predictable, with the same episodic format, repeated every time. The gore in the drama is also extremely explicit and unsightly, leaving the audience feeling queasy rather than thrilled. The protagonist lacks complexity, and his excessive kindness often feels irritating.

 In-Depth Analysis

Although the series lacks realism and suffers from weak writing and direction, it does bring in some unexpected twists that keep the viewer interested. And even if the presence of comedy in an otherwise grim plot often has unsatisfactory results, it is unique in this genre and brings in a breath of fresh air.

Star Power

Narita Ryo and Mori Rana show their fascinating acting skills and charisma in their lead roles. They captivate the audience and make them root for their characters, giving their best performances and elevating the drama and its appeal. Their captivating visuals also attract viewers. The supporting cast brings their grit and acting prowess to demanding characters and often delivers scene-stealing performances. The main actors also have exciting chemistry with the secondary actors, helping shape every character in stark relief.

Overall Opinion

This drama is the perfect watch for you if you are a fan of the thriller genre and do not mind gore. Though it has its drawbacks, suffering from technical issues, it presents a cliché storyline in a novel light, with marvelous performances from its actors and remarkable camerawork. And if you get past the predictability of the initial episodes, the show abounds with the thrilling twists and turns that it promised, becoming an enjoyable watch full of suspense.
