What happens when as a member of the legal system, you get entrapped in the very system that you are to serve? The Insider is a story Kim Yo Han, a judicial apprentice and an orphan who gets caught in the web.

Han goes undercover to investigate an insider case and is caught. The man who defends the law, is now a victim of it. He is incarcerated and in prison has to fight for survival.

Fortunately, Han is a poker player and thinks a few steps ahead in the game. He is given a set of cards which would ensure his survival and perhaps release from prison.

Will Han turn the crisis into an opportunity or will he get caught in the crisis forms the story.

The series has just started airing on prime-time television.

The Feel-Good Part

A judicial apprentice becomes a victim of the system that he is to pledged to serve. It is interesting to watch a member of the system take it on and perhaps survive it.

In-Depth Analysis

A judicial apprentice who is a good poker player gets caught during one of his investigations. Overnight, he turns from a member of the law to a victim of it and is imprisoned.

Fortunately, he has a set of cards that he can deal with but in prison he has to use his wits to stay ahead and also protect his cards. Being a poker player, he thinks ahead and manages to survive and grow but is that enough.

Also is there more than meets the eye? Has the outsider become the insider? The story unfolds as the series moves ahead.

Star Power

Kang Ha Neul plays the titular character and is quite good.

Overall Opinion

If you like the thriller drama genre, then this is a good watch albeit the story is constantly unraveling.
