Drama Digest

The drama takes place in a convenience store and revolves around two part-time employees and their manager. Li Si Han is a struggling manga artist with a hedgehog who likes her manager. Usui Rikuto is her friend and colleague; they discuss manga with her on a regular basis. He has a secret admirer who comes to the show often to buy club soda and see him. The manager thinks that she is his secret admirer and chaos ensues. Their relationship dynamic changes as they realise thing about each other and one another.

The Feel-Good Part

The show is charming from the very beginning as the quirky characters are quite fun to watch and add a lot of flavour to the show. It’s a simple slice-of-life story that is well-executed. The setting of the show looks vibrant, despite being set in a convenience store for the most part, which provides an engaging and immersive viewing experience for the audience.  The series is quite easy-going and wholesome and doesn’t require too much commitment from the audience. The relationship between the characters is the highlight of the show as their friendship and its evolution is the driving force of the show. The series takes a lot of risks and experiments with different filmmaking elements, which is fascinating and leaves a distinct impression. Despite being a low-budget show, it is quite visually pleasing for the most part.

The Disappointing Factor

The events that take place in the series don’t flow as smoothly as they should. Some parts of the show have choppy editing, which is distracting. Since the show is short, there isn’t any time to show a proper evolution of the characters, everything is told to the audience rather than show, which can be a little disappointing. There is a certain amount of disconnect between the audience and characters at times as they are often a little too quirky to be relatable.

In-Depth Analysis

The web-drama is short and sweet that doesn’t try to chew more than it can bite. It is a simple story that is well-executed as it is memorable and takes risks with the way it sets the tone of the show. The likable and funny characters are guaranteed to stay with the viewers for a long time.

Star Power

All the performances were excellent. Each actor delivered their respective characters with sincerity, while still managing to be funny. The cast is extremely skilled as they make the most out of whatever little they were expected to.

Overall Opinion

Sono koi Mousukoshi Atatamemasuka is a breezy to show after a long day of work as it is short and funny. It makes for an extremely entertaining binge even though it doesn’t last very long. This makes for the perfect watch for people who don’t have the time to watch a full-length drama and still want to enjoy a series.
