Imperial Concubine is a Chinese drama that explores the genre of history, Wuxia that refers to chinese fiction about the martial artists set in the backdrop of ancient China, and romance. Imperial Concubine narrates the story of the eldest lady of Lin Mansion, Lin Ruo, who was forced to marry Lu Jun Yi. The drama revolves around the plotline of an unusual phenomenon where the male lead, Lu Jun Yi, the prince of Qi, gets attacked every three hours and transforms into another body, for instance, sometimes a man, a child, and even a woman. This had happened because he got infected with a strange poison. However, nobody knows about this secret of the prince.

The Feel-good part

The fans of the genre wuxia would thoroughly enjoy this romantic drama, as it also offers an exciting plotline that involves the transformation of the physical body every 3 hours, which would make the viewers thoroughly entertained. This C-drama also stays true to its romance genre and provides the viewers with big heart-fluttering scenes. The chemistry between the two lead actors is a bonus point.

The actors, too, did a pretty good job in portraying their characters. Though this topic of changing bodies/transformation of bodies has been tried out before, the fact that the period of the drama is ancient, makes the plotline fresh and entertaining to watch. Overall, if you have a short attention span and cannot watch longer-duration episodes, then this C-drama is a perfect option for you. Each of the episodes lasts only 5 minutes. You can binge-watch Imperial Concubine over the weekend. As the rating of Imperial Concubine is “G,” there is not really any restriction on age and can be watched by all age groups. This drama has the potential to attract a vast viewership because of its predictable yet fresh storyline.
