Drama Digest
Ono Yuuki, a well-known voice actor, is found dead in his condominium after receiving a fatal blow to the back of his head but what is more interesting is that there is also a mysterious injury on his forehead. The script he had been reading just before his death turns out to be a work rumored to be a cursed animation. In this work, Chiharu Sawashiro plays the role of Osamu Sawashiro, a retired voice actor who becomes a detective in the wake of a particular incident. Along with Kaoru Toru, a rookie detective that is a voice actor otaku portrayed by Rena Takeda and the dummy head equipped with A. I (artificial intelligence) voiced by Natsuki Hanae. This show is a comedic mystery, with an immense amount of comedy that might make your stomach hurt from the start of the show.
The Feel Good Part
Kiyoshi Kobayashi, a veteran seiyuu and narator, narrates the drama. Apart from this, there are also many special guest appearances in this show many well-known seiyuu come together to make this show a never seen comedy. On top of it, Yuma Uchida’s Spin a Roulette song is featured as the theme song for this drama, making it a seiyuu-special show.
The Disappointing Part
In my opinion, the disappointing part would be that the show is way too short, making the show feel rushed. Apart from that, not everyone enjoys comedy; some might think that the drama is too deadpan and childish for their liking. If you are someone who enjoys watching deadpan comedy shows then you should have no problem with the show.
In-Depth Analysis
The story has good humor to give your life good stress relief after all the hectic everyday life; it’s a must-watch for people who enjoy a hearty laugh. Seiyuu tantei can also be enjoyed with your family or friends.
Star Power
The actors hired to play the roles in this show are all seiyuu making it a complete seiyuu revolving story, a seiyuu along with a subordinate seiyuu trying to solve the murder of another seiyuu with an A.I. system. I think no other actors could’ve played this role better than the ones who have; it’s a good blend of the comic storyline and the hint of the comic style of the actors. Chiharu Sawashiro, Rena Takeda, Natsuki Hanae, and the other guest actors have played phenomenal roles in making this show enjoyable.
Overall Opinion
In my opinion, the show is an absolute must-watch, giving you a nice breather from your hectic life. I am a little disappointed by the ending of the drama although it is hilarious a little more dramatic ending would make the show well put together. For people who enjoy watching comedy content Seiyuu Tantei is a good choice. You will thoroughly enjoy this show.
