Masa is a true artist who has already given the best disco song of the year. Even though Himeno Reika is Masa’s obsessive secretary, Masa and Ayu are fated to fall in love. Masa promises Ayu that he will help her become a successful singer. In Ayu’s life, how will love and success blossom? What would the envious Reika do to justify her obsession with Masa? Ayu’s foray into the entertainment sector brings her face to face with her competitors. there is more to the narrative in ‘M: Ai Subeki Hito ga Ite.’

The Feel-Good Part

The admirers always love the imaginary story of a highly respected Japanese singer. The love story between Ayu and Masa is charming. On film, Masa and his old colleague Rekawa have a strong bond. The storyline had just the right amount of life drama. Furthermore, the musical portions from the original Ayumi are the most mesmerizing.

The Disappointing Factor

It takes a lot of effort to portray a character from real life in a play. The principal character in the drama failed to convey Ayumi’s personality. Her character lacked heart and charm, and her appearance was the only thing that matched a real-life legend. There are certain flaws in the tale that detract from the basic theme.

In-Depth Analysis

Even though the story is fictional, It’s fascinating to see how Ayu achieves fame and develops into a confident star. It illustrates Ayumi Hamasaki’s struggle at the pinnacle of her career. The play is a dramatic adaptation of the novel about the singer. The subplots were all made up and mostly on par. Reika’s character stands out more than Ayu’s primary role. The supporting portrayal was subpar at times, and it seemed to mislead the entire tale. The drama’s setting was not appropriate for the year 1993. The scenes’ timings were on the verge of perfection. Overall, the drama line was well-filled. It is not contextual because it is an adaptation and a biography.

Star Power

Kalen Anzai was the one who cast Ayu. It was her first time acting in a drama. It was difficult for her to keep up with the characters’ and personalities’ emotions. Max Masa was played by Miura Shohei. His acting made the audience fall in love with him right away. Others, such as Shirahama Alan (Nagarukawa Sho) and Tanaka Minami (Himeno Reika), excel in balancing the characteristics.

Overall Opinion

In general, Ayumi Hamasaki’s fictitious life was dramatic and entertaining, but it was far from realistic. The lead actress failed miserably to acquire the idol diva’s allure. With the acting and characterization of Masa and Reika, the story is entertaining to watch.
