Drama Digest

The drama features a sudden turn of events which leaves the police and the prosecutor’s office standing against each other. The reason behind the dispute was that the prosecutors demanded complete discretionary power over the investigations. At the same time, the police department wishes to receive full investigation authority, to the extent where it is utterly free from the prosecutor’s office’s intervenience. As a result, Woo Tan Ha, who is a prosecutor, and Choi Bit, who is a police officer, are also standing against each other. However, despite this stressful situation, Detective Han Yeo Jin and Prosecutor Hwang Shi Mok try their best to untangle the truth behind the hidden case.

The Feel-Good Part

The drama is a Netflix original, and it indeed makes you feel the vibe. The mystery of the case is something that will keep you at the edge of your seat. You will always be looking for more. The tension from the situation makes you feel anxious as you always feel the need of noticing every tiny detail because you get a sense that maybe that might turn out to be a big truth. Nothing about the storyline is lame, and you not at all for even once feel that the story has been forcefully complicated, without reason. Every mystery and suspense feels reasonable and is very well explained.

The Disappointing Factor

The drama is the second season of the famous Korean show, Stanger, and even though the storyline isn’t exactly a continuation of the first season, the characters are still the same. Hence, naturally, because of all this, you can’t help but compare season 2 with season 1, and when you do so, you will be disappointed. Truth be told, season 1 was for sure much better than season 2. Season 2 feels somewhat slow, at instances. Although not monotonous, the story that has been depicted via 16 episodes could undoubtedly have been wrapped up in 12 episodes, perhaps. Also, the last two episodes feel slightly rushed. The drama lacks some consistency.

In-Depth Analysis

The drama is indeed like any other well written Netflix original masterpiece. The show is like a chief’s kiss for a mystery lover. The suspense of the show leaves you watching your screen like a hawk. Frankly speaking, the drama makes you feel like some cunning detective. The relationship between the characters could have been explored more. The characters that almost became friends in the first season could have been shown to be acting on those relationships more openly. But unfortunately, you get to witness nothing as such. However, the thrill of the show makes you careless.

Star Power

The drama has an experienced cast. ‘Jeon Hye Jin’ plays the role of detective Choi Bit, and ‘Choi Moo Sung’ can be seen as Woo Tae Ha, and their slightly weird equation is fun to watch. ‘Jo Seung Woo’ portrays the character of Hwang Shi Mok, and his smart and cunning acting skills are given to amaze you. ‘Bae Doo Na’ is Han Yeo Jin, and she does a nice job. Other than this, ‘Lee Joon Hyuk’ and ‘Yoon Se Ah’ are also part of the main cast.

Overall Opinion

The show is very well done and should indeed be watched by as many people as possible. The story is well written and doesn’t have any significant loopholes. The unpredictable surprises might even shock you. It is an entertaining drama.
