Drama Digest

Kindaichi Hajime has an IQ of 180 and is a high school student working as a private investigator on the sides. He solves mysterious cases which are too hard to solve. He gets help from his childhood friends, Nanase Miyuki and Kenmochi Isamu are the chief inspector of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department.

The Feel-Good Part

As an adaptation from a manga series, most of the cases are similar in this series. But updated with some twists for the storyline, even the familiar characters have new sides. The cast did a decent job at portraying their characters. Its opening theme song with the OSTs is composed well, and the conceptual idea is entertaining and engaging. They set the mood for a thrilling and suspenseful time. The progression of the storylines in each episode is steady and consistent.

The Disappointing Factor

The presentation in the show could have been better, and the side characters needed more polishing and detailing. It will be one of the stressful watches that might get harder every episode. Few gore scenes could be too much for younger audiences.

In-Depth Analysis

The show got loosely based on a manga series of the same name. It is the fifth generation remake series with live-action set in modern-day Japan. In summary, the show portrays Kindaischi Hajime as an intelligent high school student with an IQ of 180 inherited from his grandfather. Star Power

Kimura Hisashi is the director of this show and written by Kawabe Yuuko and Oishi Tetsuya. Michieda Shunsuke is an idol from a boy band named Naniwa Danshi who plays the main lead Kindaichi Hajime, along with Kamishiraishi Moka playing Nanase Miyuki and Sawamura Ikki plays the role of Kenmochi Isamu in this series.

Overall Opinion

It can be a definite watch for people who like mystery, crime, and suspense shows. People interested in detective drama trope will also find this a gem to watch. Each case was fulfilling enough to keep watching the next episodes. The story doesn’t involve any romantic plotlines but does include some humor to get a break from thriller parts from on-the-edge mystery.
