Drama Digest
Detective Shimura Takafumi staunchly believes that all criminals must face just punishment. He desires to arrest these criminals at any cost. However, his headstrong attitude leads to his demotion to a special investigation team that works with unsolved cases. Meanwhile, Kiriko, who goes by the alias Invisible, is a crime coordinator who orchestrates the criminals of the underworld. Only a few are aware of the existence of such a crime coordinator and how she helps organized criminals plan out their activities. But one day, she suddenly comes up to the police and offers to help them find and arrest criminals. She promises to supply information on violent crimes and unsolved cold cases. But she demands to work with Shimura on these cases.
The Feel-Good Part
The concept of a crime coordinator is fascinating and unique. It is a fresh concept in the thriller genre and hooks audiences with the show. The fast-paced crime and action in the series compliments the characters and bring out the actors’ best. The main cast is charismatic, and their chemistry and acting are one of the greatest assets of this drama.
The Disappointing Factor
The writing and direction are weak. Therefore, many main plot points often come off as stupid and childish. Such a script makes the story extremely unrealistic, with no understanding of the criminal world or the police departments. It might even come off as disrespectful to the detective profession. And even though the two leads are seasoned actors with great charm and skill, one often feels that they are not suited to the crime-thriller genre and the characters they play. The stunts performed in the show are also impracticable and distract the audience from the main storyline.

With its intriguing plot, the drama initially seems very promising, helmed by skilled lead actors and a great supporting cast. But it eventually fell flat, especially with the many noteworthy crime dramas that have shaken Japan in recent years. The show ruins its potential through its poor writing and direction. However, fans of Takahashi Issei and Shibasaki Ko might still enjoy the drama to some extent because the two lead actors deliver stellar performances despite the numerous weaknesses of the script and direction.
