Drama Digest –
Onotora Shu decides to become a professional hitman after his life dramatically changes due to his foster father’s death, Joichiro, who too was a legendary professional killer working for an organization approved by the local force called SOS. Joiciro never revealed his real identity to Shu, and they worked together for a cleaning agency. Joichiro was a kind-hearted and responsible father to Shu. He fails to kill his assassination target, Narumiya Mitsuki, even after many attempts. He ends up protecting her, which leads to a love connection between the two.
The Feel-good Part-
The storyline is fresh and exciting. The characters are successfully portraying the roles perfectly. The series is not that lengthy, which maintains the audience’s thrill until the end. The last episode wrapped the series beautifully, being not too draggy. Taishi’s acting is well-appreciated. The dramatic music played every time a killing trial comes is fun and annoying at the same time.
The Disappointing Factor-
Although with a promising storyline and production, the series lacks in showing the scenes appropriately, fitting the story’s context. Having similarities with other shows, it lacks originality in the core of the story, The story becomes distasteful and confused in some parts. The ending was a bit satisfactory with some plot twists but somehow a bit predicted. Some scenes are cringe. Also, the romance between Taishi and Yuko is not clearly depicted due to the lack of romantic scenes.
In-Depth Analysis-
This story’s directed by Hoshino Kazunari and Horai Tadaaki and written by Tokunaga Yuichi and Miura Kisa. It is an ideal mixture of action, romance, and thriller. The character’s acting is true to life and seems very powerful and natural. The climax is convincing. The irony of Shu becoming a “professional” hitman without any proper training is evident by the hilarious off-timings of whenever he tries to shoot her.
Star Power-
The main lead of the series is Onotora Shu, who is determined to seek revenge for his foster father, Joichiro. He is fearless and courageous. Shu has a silly and naive character and a delicate heart which makes him unique. The murder filled him with revenge, but he was distracted enough not to cause any violence. Mitsuki, the female lead of the story, is the killer of his foster father, and is a famous manga writer in secret. She is a young, beautiful and talented “mangaka.” Shu and Mitsuki were childhood friends who promised to protect each other.
Overall Opinion-
The series is overall a worthwhile watch if you enjoy both suspenseful and romantic content.
