Drama Digest

When only a few weeks left in high school, Seiran Academy holds a graduation ceremony. Manaha and her classmates have to choose their future.  It was shocking to see Yuri’s mother has broken off the engagement to side with, Manaha. It is a straightforward story of high school students.

The Feel-Good Part

The storyline is adequate, it focuses on the central problem students face in deciding their careers. The storytelling was compelling and the plot is nicely drawn and executed. The second lead was just outstanding. It is a high-quality drama with a well-written script. There are no clichés, the friendship shown is pure. The actors did a great job, the ost and the quality of the drama are applauded.

The Disappointing Factor

It is a simple story of high school students, it could have shown the problems students face in their school time. Characters could have been more complex.

In-Depth Analysis

At a young age, Manaha got separated from her mother, she attended a beauty contest. The stunning beauty queen winner took pity on that child and helped her family. The incident mesmerized her, and she decided to become a beauty queen herself. Now, when she is in high school, she is shy, and lacks self-confidence. She is convinced that she will not get a chance in a beauty contest. Coincidentally, a cultural fair organizer announces that he will hold a beauty contest for high school students, she thought of entering but couldn’t dare to join in the contest. But she, got a chance at the bus stop, she talked to his classmate Tachibana who is handsome, but preening. She began a friendship with him. Then a new student joins as attractive as Tachibana. The two boys started to develop feelings for her. Finally, she decides to enter the beauty contest. It was enjoyable to watch the cast as they portrayed their roles well. Here, we are also taught that the world is so unfair, things always don’t go as you; have planned you should be ready to face the consequences for your actions.

Star Power

The characters were felt alive when you were convinced that they are real people. The character dynamics between the leads were excellent. The leads did their part well.

Overall Opinion

Black Cinderella, is a pretty lovely drama to watch. The episodes are fast-paced, but not cringe.
