Drama Digest

It’s the Daihasei Festive season, where students from various school’s pit against each other in a series of events. And it’s obvious that Tokiwadai Middle School will be taking part in the festival. But when the Academy city opens to the outside world, several disputes began which could invade the academic city. So Mikoto Misaka teams up with Misaki Shokuho to stop the evil plans during the Daihesei Festival.

The Feel-Good Part

Even after a long 7-year hiatus and getting postponed due to the pandemic, it’s commendable how the refined the series was. With a series of 25 episodes, the show delivers what the fans need and wastes no time in getting to the centre of the story. The art, animation and the sound had definitely improved and the storyline doesn’t feel hasty nor dragged. Misaka has always been the main character and we didn’t really need any character development of her because she has proved herself capable enough in the last 2 season. Even the side cast got their own screen time and spotlight in different seasons.

The Disappointing Factor

I wasn’t disappointed with the Series and it’s hard to pick any faults in it. My only thing would be I didn’t find the soundtrack quite memorable, but again, it’s a personal preference which varies from person to person.

In-Depth Analysis

Adapted from the manga series of the same name, the first season a certain scientific railgun was released on March 18 2009. The third season was broadcasted on 10 January 2020, but airing of several episodes were constantly delayed because of the covid pandemic. The third season is directed by Tatsuyuki Nagai and the Script supervisor Minakami Sheshi was replaced by Yasukawa Shogo. Despite the long hiatus, there wasn’t a large difference in the production and the animation and the execution of the Series was done pretty well.

Star Power

The main cast voicing comprised of Rina Sato, Satomi Arai, Kanae Ito, Aki Toyosaki, did pretty well and couldn’t ask for more.

Overall Opinion

A Certain Scientific Railgun Season 3 really does justice to the Series. Everything was well portrayed and there the improvement in terms of sound production and art.
