Drama Digest

Before learning that her fiancé was a married man, Kobayashi Haru fell in love. A regular customer tells her that she will meet three different males at that time. Just as she expected, she first runs into them. Shintaro, the hairdresser, Yu, the singer for the band, and Yoshi, the bartender. What will result from these catastrophic meetings?

The Feel-Good Part

The fluff mood the series set throughout its runtime is very heartwarming. Although romance us an overused genre, the use of heartwarming scenes, in an effective way, leads to the development of the character in a cute way . The acting by Baba Fumika in itself very heartwarming.

The Disappointing Factor

The drama does a fantastic job of fusing the romance with the forming of the friendship and the telling of the characters’ lives, even though those stories weren’t told in detail. The show also made extensive use of clichéd sequences and tropes found in romantic comedies. The drama had a lighthearted tone, but the ending was poorly handled.

In-Depth Analysis

After splitting up with her boyfriend—who it later emerged was married—Haru is left without a place to live and seeks sanctuary in her grandmother’s home, where three men are renting rooms. Those men will be difficult for Haru to deal with because they are not just possible housemates but also lovers. Haru struggles to trust others after being duped by her previous boyfriend and experiences love. She has become used  to living alone as well, but she rediscovers the pleasures of having a companion.

Star Power

Baba Fumika was pretty cute in this drama, her acting brought out the character of Haru in a lovable manner. Kamiya Kenta also did a great job in portraying a self centered and inconsiderate man. The role of a perfect boyfriend was  delivered by Sakurada Dori in a seamless way and Nakahara Hiroshi’s acting is also praiseworthy.

Overall Opinion

Although the ending was open and better suited to a slice-of-life drama with a deeper plot, the drama was lovely and adorable.

The cohabitation plot, aside from that, was generally enjoyable and humorous. The relationship the roommates shared was pleasant and developed gradually.
