Drama Digest
“Till We Meet Again” earlier known as “Sushi Restaurant Legend” is a 2021 Taiwanese movie. The movie is based on a novel of the same name, written by Giddens Ko. It is a romantic comedy revolving around the lives of Xiao Lun and Xiao Mi. It is a story of reincarnations and fantasy land.
The Feel-Good Part
This movie is a perfect blend of everything and is worth the watch. It is a unique storyline. The romance is well-written and deserves recognition. The visual effects are stunning, which led them to win an award at the “Golden Horse Film Awards”. Since it is a movie, short and splendid, it draws attention to every moment in the scenes. It is funny, heartwarming as well as scary.
The Disappointing Factor
The revenge plot is decent enough but also unsatisfactory for some as it is not like those mainstream revenge stories. Some parts of the story were hard to understand. So, it needs to be watched more than once to understand.
In-Depth Analysis
Ah Lun was struck by lightning and killed. He entered the underworld with blank memories. He had two choices- to reincarnate as a snail or to become a priest, then gather virtues and get reincarnated as a human again. He became Yue Lao. He made a partner called Pinky to avail his mission. Pinky had a fiery personality. Once Ah Lun met a dog named Alu along with its owner Xiao Mi who was his lover in a past life. After meeting her, his memories of his previous life came back. Ah, Lun kept hovering around her, but she cannot see him anymore. Ah Lun tries to fix marriage for her and bond her to a red string. But every string tied to her hands was burned, which depicted that certain things will not change even after ten thousand years. Besides that, Gui Toucheng went to the human world from the underworld. He is planning a bloody revenge operation to avenge his death five hundred years ago. He found the thief’s brother who killed and betrayed him. While Ah Lun was still tying Xiao Mi’s red string, Gui Toucheng was plotting an act of revenge against Xiao Mi next.
Star Power
All the actors played their roles remarkably, making it worth watching. Kai Ko, Vivian Sung, Gingle Wang, and Umin Boya were behind the main roles.
Overall Opinion
If you enjoy movies of fantasy, reincarnation, and revenge plot stories, this is a perfect go-to show. This is an excellent movie with a perfect amount of emotion.
